A tool we built because we needed it
LeadBox comes out of a small software shop in Buea, and out of an afternoon wasted looking for phone numbers.
Why it exists
SaaS Simplified sells software to businesses in Cameroon. Which means that, regularly, somebody here needs a list: every pharmacy in Douala, every hotel in Kribi, every school in one district of Yaoundé. For a long time that meant an afternoon of searching by hand, one business at a time, copying numbers into a notebook, and losing track of who had already been called.
So we built the thing we kept wishing existed: pick a kind of business and a city, get a clean list with the numbers on it, and leave with a spreadsheet or a WhatsApp message. We used it ourselves before we showed it to anybody.
It is still early. The free plan is genuinely free, the database grows every week, and the fastest way to change what gets built next is to tell us what is missing.

Three things we decided early

Plain words, both languages
No jargon, no “leads pipeline”. Every screen is written in English and in French, the way people actually speak.

Honest about the data
Nothing is invented to make a list look fuller. Records confirmed by hand are marked as such, numbers that have stopped working are flagged, and any business can ask to be removed.

The phone comes first
Designed for a mid-range Android on mobile data, because that is what it will be used on.
