What LeadBox stores, why it stores it, and how to get it removed. Written to be read, not to be survived.

Last updated 12 Oct 2026

The short version

LeadBox stores the account you create, the searches you run, and contact details that businesses publish publicly. We do not sell anything to anybody, and we do not track you around the internet.

  • We keep your name, email address and password (scrambled, never readable).
  • We keep a record of your searches, so the tool gets cheaper and faster, and so we can spot abuse.
  • We keep business contact details gathered from public sources.
  • A business can ask to be removed, and we remove it.

What we store about you

When you create an account we store:

  • Your name, as you typed it.
  • Your email address, which is also how you sign in.
  • Your password, scrambled with a one-way function. Nobody can read it, including us.
  • If you sign in with Google, the account identifier Google gives us, so we recognise you next time.

What we record when you use it

Using LeadBox leaves a few traces:

  • Each search: what you typed, which city, and when. This is how the tool reuses what it already found instead of paying to look it up again.
  • Which businesses you marked as contacted. Those marks are yours alone: other users never see them.
  • Basic technical information your browser sends, such as your IP address, used to keep accounts secure and to stop one person running thousands of searches.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not load third-party analytics.

The business information in LeadBox

LeadBox is a directory of businesses. The details it shows are things those businesses publish so that customers can reach them: a shop's name, what it does, its neighbourhood, its phone number, its website and sometimes a public email address.

They come from:

  • Public mapping and directory services.
  • The businesses' own public listings and websites.
  • Checks and corrections made by hand in our own admin tools.

One of those services is Google. Google's terms limit how long its content may be stored, so details that came from Google expire from our records after about 25 days unless a person has confirmed them.

Cookies

One cookie. When you sign in, LeadBox sets a session cookie so the site knows it is still you on the next page. It is httpOnly, which means scripts cannot read it, and it holds nothing but a reference to your session.

There are no advertising cookies, no social-media pixels and no cross-site tracking. Clearing the cookie signs you out; nothing else breaks.

If you sign in with Google

Signing in with Google is optional. If you use it, Google sends us:

  • your name;
  • your email address;
  • a unique identifier for your Google account.

We use those three things for one purpose: to create your LeadBox account, or to open the one you already have. We never post anything to your Google account, never read your contacts, your email or your files, and never pass this information to anyone else.

Who else sees your data

Nobody buys it and nobody is handed it. Two services necessarily handle it, because they are what runs the product:

  • The server and database LeadBox runs on.
  • Google Places, when that source is switched on. Your search terms are sent to Google to look businesses up, exactly as they would be if you searched Google Maps yourself.

We will only hand personal information to anyone else if a Cameroonian court or the law requires it.

How long we keep things

Different things, different lifetimes:

  • Your account details, for as long as you have an account. Ask us to delete it and it goes, along with your contacted marks.
  • Search records, kept as a log so we can understand usage and costs. They are never shown to other users.
  • Business content that came from the service named above: about 25 days, after which it expires unless a person has confirmed it.

If you are a business and want to be removed

Write to us on WhatsApp (+237 6 72 49 12 96) or by email (hello@saassimplified.net) with the business name and the city, and we will remove it. You do not have to explain why, and we will not ask you to fill in a form.

One honest limit: LeadBox reads public sources, so if your business is still published on one of them, a later search could find it again. We keep a note of removal requests so the same record does not come back. If it does anyway, tell us and we will fix it.

What you can ask us for

At any time, you can ask us to:

  • send you a copy of what we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete your account and the data attached to it.

Write to hello@saassimplified.net. We will answer in English or French, whichever you wrote in.

How it is kept safe

Passwords are stored scrambled with a one-way function, the session cookie cannot be read by scripts, and traffic to the site is encrypted.

No system is perfect, and we would rather say so than promise otherwise. If you think something is wrong with LeadBox's security, tell us and we will treat it as urgent.

Who may use LeadBox

LeadBox is a business tool for adults. It is not meant for children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the new version appears on this page and the date at the top changes with it. If a change matters, such as a new source of data or a new service handling it, we will say so rather than leaving you to notice.
